What is Disease?

Disease

Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health. In case of sickness, the cause should be ascertained. Unhealthful conditions should be changed, wrong habits corrected. Then nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system.

-Ministry of Healing, p 127.

Nature bears abuse as long as she can without resisting, then she arouses, and makes a mighty effort to rid herself of the incumbrances and evil treatment she has suffered. Then come headache, chills, fevers, nervousness, paralysis, and other evils too numerous to mention.-- Testimonies V. II, p. 69

Nature, to relieve herself of poisonous impurities, makes an effort to free the system. This effort produces fevers and what is termed disease. But even then, if those who are afflicted would assist nature in her efforts by the use of pure, soft water, much suffering would be prevented. But many, instead of doing this, and seeking to remove the poisonous matter from the system, take a more deadly poison into the system, to remove a poison already there.

Note:- Disease is not a negative condition which should be combated and suppressed ('cured'), but a self-defensive, protective effort of the body to restore health. A fever is not a disease, but a sign that an infection or disease is present. Fever help destroy the bacteria and viruses. If the fever gets too high (above 102 0F. in adults or 103 0F in Children), immediately immerse the body in tepid water, to lower the temperture. If it then goes to 1030F.-contact a doctor! Pain is our body's way of telling us that something is wrong. Inflammation is a re-constructive process and should not be suppressed. Every acute disease is an effort of nature to cleanse and heal. When suppressed, it becomes sub-acute, and then, with time, chronic and degenerative.
